The Ambient Book Club is a two-hour silent reading event with a live soundtrack. Readers bring a book or take one from the shelves, settle in, and read together while the music builds and fades around them.
The fee is €1,230, including €230 VAT. One event, one invoice. Travel outside Dublin adds 50 cent a kilometre of the round trip.

What the crew needs from your branch
Everything else travels in with the crew.

Who the Ambient Book Club is for
The Ambient Book Club is an event for adults. The format seats up to 150 readers, wherever the space holds that many, and it works as well for twenty.
Readers arrive, stay and leave as they like. A table of graphic novels, art books, blank paper and pencils stands beside the instruments, so nobody has to read to take part.
Set-up and clear-away
A crew of three arrives with the sound system, the lighting, the decoration and the instruments. They build in the hour before doors and strike afterwards.
Four speakers stand around the edge of the space and the performer sits low and central, with the cables dressed and matted and a clear path kept.
The music stays low and slow, sized to a reading space, so a conversation at the desk still sits above it. Cabling, access and floor layout are on the technical requirements page.
The report after the event
You get a full report after the event, carrying the headcount, the readers’ own words and photographs. It is written to be lifted straight into a funding acquittal or a committee paper.

- Creative Ireland funds creative projects through its Creative Communities strand in each local authority.
