Performed in real time by Aidan Murphy, a composer based in Dublin, Ireland, each live-looped set builds organic layers of acoustic and electronic instruments into a continuous, gentle sound bath.
The result is a subtle, surround-sound atmosphere that adapts to the character and acoustics of any quiet room.

How it works
Layering the sound
Watch the music evolve from scratch. Every performance starts with a single, sparse instrumental fragment. More layers join gradually, each looping at an independent length so they constantly shift out of step, build warmth, and eventually settle back toward near silence.
Engineering the space
Put the audience inside the sound. A custom sound system in all four corners of the room completely surrounds the audience, and the sound moves through the physical architecture, turning corridors, open rooms, and seating areas into an active part of the listening experience. The four speakers, the crew and the cabling are described in full, along with the three things the room provides.
Inviting the audience
Remove all pressure to participate. Audiences are free to sit, lie down, read, or go about their business. Because the music rewards close attention without ever demanding it, it serves equally well as a focused 90-minute concert or an all-day ambient installation.
No two rooms sound the same, and the set is made for the room it is played in. Name the space and the date, and the rest is his to solve.
