Marrowbone Books

Marrowbone Books was opened on the Coombe in 2017 by Lily and Brian, and it sells second-hand fiction, mostly middle-brow literary paperbacks from the last seventy years. Their own description of the stock is that they usually have a lot of Christopher Isherwood and Alison Lurie on the shelves, which tells you more than a category list would. Rugs, plants, high shelves, somebody behind the desk who will talk to you.

They buy books as well as sell them, in very good condition and mostly paperback, and they run readings and the occasional live music night. Their site does not publish opening hours, so check their Instagram before you walk over.
