Burrenbeo Trust

A landscape charity in Kinvara whose output is almost entirely walks, talks and learning. On the first Sunday of every month it runs a heritage walk somewhere in the Burren, on themes that are natural, built and cultural in turn. On the second Wednesday of every month it runs a webinar.

Two festivals anchor the year. Burren in Bloom, in May, is a programme of walks and talks timed to the arrival of the summer flora. The Burren Winterage Weekend is built around the movement of the cattle up onto the limestone for winter grazing, and turns a piece of farming into walks, talks and workshops.

It also puts on concerts. Recent work includes performances with the Kinvara Community Orchestra as part of a project on place. A trust that treats a landscape as something to be learned rather than looked at.
