Íontas Theatre, Arts and Community Resource Centre

Íontas is three things in one building at Conabury, on the edge of Castleblayney: a theatre, a gallery and a set of community and conference rooms. The auditorium seats 308 in its full configuration. A folding acoustic wall across the middle and fully retractable seating cut it to about 100 for smaller work, or reshape it entirely — thrust stage, theatre in the round, or room for an orchestra in front of the stage.

The programme runs year round across drama, comedy, music and dance, and tickets are sold through the centre’s own booking page. The gallery carries a changing run of exhibitions by artists from the area and further afield; artists can apply to show work there by sending a short bio and images to the arts coordinator.
