George’s Street Arcade

Hours: Mon–Wed 9am–6pm; Thu–Sat 9am–7pm; Sun 11am–6pm
Entry: Free
George’s Street Arcade has been trading since 1881, which makes it Ireland’s first purpose-built shopping centre and one of the oldest covered markets in Europe. The red-brick Victorian hall runs between South Great George’s Street and Drury Street, and it is a five-minute walk from Grafton Street, Temple Bar and Trinity.
Inside are independent stalls and small shops: vintage clothing, jewellery, second-hand records, books, collectables, and food. Blazing Salads and a branch of Umi Falafel both trade here, and Spindizzy Records has been in the building thirty years.
Open Monday to Wednesday 9am to 6pm, Thursday to Saturday 9am to 7pm, and Sunday 11am to 6pm. Free to walk through.
