Thunderclap Murphy plays live ambient music at So Say So, the spoken-word evening curated by Stephen James Smith, in the Community Garden at Wexford Arts Centre on Friday 28 August 2026.
He improvises and loops the music live, building it from acoustic and electronic instruments, including flute, guitar and synth. Four speakers stand around the garden and the sound moves between them at its own pace. Playing outdoors, he takes what the evening offers. At the July event a church bell and a neighbour’s dog arrived partway through and stayed in the music.
Sharing the evening is Maras Poesie, a French slam and freestyle champion returning to Ireland, alongside the resident musicians Basciville. The 5-Word-Challenge open mic runs on the night, five minutes each, first come first served.
The evening starts at 7pm and runs about two hours. Admission is free, and tickets are booked through the arts centre.
So Say So is supported by the Department, Culture Ireland and Wexford County Council as part of Ireland’s EU Presidency Culture Programme.
