Belfast Tool Library

The first tool lending library in Northern Ireland. You join, you borrow a drill or a sander or a tile cutter the way you would borrow a book, and you bring it back. It runs out of the Shankill Mission Building on the Shankill Road.

There is a second half to it that the name does not tell you. The community workshop is a room you can use the tools in, open on booked sessions, alongside classes for people who have never held the tool before.

Borrowing solves the wrong-shaped problem for most people, which is not owning the drill but having nowhere to use it.
