Red Books
Address: St Peter's Square, Wexford town · View on map
An independent bookshop selling new, second-hand, antiquarian and collectible books, with a bias toward local writers. It began in 2016 in a former bull-shed in Bridgetown as the smallest bookshop in Ireland, moved to Wexford town in 2019, and doubled in size in 2022. There is a second shop in Gorey.
It also runs a press. Red Books Press publishes books, and two journals, the Wexford Bohemian and Wexford Women Writing Undercover. The shop programmes its own events.
A bookshop that publishes and programmes is doing more than selling books, and this one has been doing it from a town of twenty thousand people.
