The Organic Centre

The Organic Centre has been going at Rossinver since 1995, on a 19-acre site in north Leitrim where the land meets Lough Melvin. It works out of an ecologically designed building with a grass roof, which won An Taisce’s award for the most appropriate building located in the countryside.

The gardens are the reason to come: a kitchen garden that feeds the café, a senses garden, an orchard, wildflower meadows, willow forest and a wetland treatment system. The Grass Roof Café cooks what the beds produce. The shop and the seed catalogue run alongside it.

Courses run all year and they are not what you expect from a garden centre. Dry stone wall building, wild mushroom foraging, seed saving, fermentation, wine and cider making, handspinning, willow work. Open 10am to 5pm, seven days.
